Oh my god!!! Could it get any higher? It's 29.99% now. Providian sold my account while it was under Credit Protection (I was unemployed). I paid for this "insurance" and they used it against me when I needed to take advantage of it. My balance was under my $2500 by about $100 BEFORE the transfer. Now it's $3025 and growing due to "over the limit fees"
Are they really that smart? Did they figure out a way to screw 800,000 customers for the rest of their natural lives?
I will be speaking with a Consumer Rights attorney within the next few days to see what I can do about this. You may say pay it off, but I know that if I sent in $3025.00 PLUS any "pending over the limit, finance charge BS" it still wouldn't be paid.
Surely there is some way to apply the FDCPA to these guys. I'll figure it out if it kills me!
