I don’t know Kansas’s specific rules of civil procedure, but in Missouri, I estimated that 20% of their suits are dismissed without prejudice due to lack of service at around the 4 month point. All the suits appeared to require personal service. You might want to check with actual lawsuits filed in Kansas and see whether they are also getting dismissed for lack of service.

If they don’t know where you are at, I wouldn’t tell them.
