Thanks to all the regular members that post great advice to the board. I had a sick daughter and like many of you got stuck with credit card bills. They were unwilling to work with me with paying them back. I really wanted to pay them back but they were being too difficult. Now there is no hope of paying them back.

There are many posts advising to close my bank account if I paid my credit card bill with it. I am in the process of closing my bank account and I opened an online bank account. I had to fund it with a check from my old account. I have to cash out my 401K to pay for future medical bills. That is the money I need to put into the new account. Once I cash out the 401K I'm afraid they will try to get that.

Can a credit card company/collections agency get banking information once I close the account? i.e. Can they sue and then go through my account once it's closed?

Thanks in advance.
