They have to have a judgement before they can do anything, unless you are in Texas, where there are reports of CAs convincing judges to freeze bank accounts before they get the judgement. I would be a little leary of banking online. Hope you are running a firewall. I would try to get the money in, and pay the medical bills as fast as you can. I wouldn't leave a lot of money in a bank account anywhere. I am a cautious type though. I figure an ounce of prevention. I think your new account is relatively safe, but it would be better if you could have put somebody else as primary. Not really sure what an asset check would come up with. BUT, remember, they have to get a judgement first.
