I post on another debt board so I am sorry if any of this information is a "repeat" to those of you who post elsewhere. I live in FL, I moved here just under 1 year ago from AZ. I recently got served with papers from the court filed by Asset Accept. Corp on behalf of MBNA. There is a pre-trial hearing set for July 21st. I have an appointment with an attorney for Wednesday for representation on an SOL case (DLA was 1999 and I haven't had any contact - other than getting the occasional annoying letter) since then. I am (of course) scared crap-less because I can't afford to lose. My huband, son and I live very mosetly and have spent the last 2 years attempting to re-build our credit. I just want to know from those of you who have used an SOL defense...did it work? Any advice? If it didn't work...why not? Also... any advice or info on Asset Acceptance Corp? Any advice on court in FL. Seems like a lot of people on here from FL (perhaps its because the judges here don't go for an SOL defense. In which case maybe I should argue jurisdiction and pay to fly to AZ to represent myself - hell of alot cheaper than getting the judgement). Any and all information would really help. Thanks!
