No, not quite-- a certified copy of a judgment can be filed in the County where ANY real estate is owned, however a homestead is EXEMPT from any enforcement of the lien.

In Fl. if you need to sell, or refi a home and there is a judgment filed against it, you simply file an affidavit of homestead ( not the same thing as homestead exemption for the tax break), it is good for 180 days and can be renewed if neccessary, it keeps you from having to pay of a judgment when you sell or refi, but also protects the lender or new buyer from any claim.
