Your income is exempt. However the savings account is not. Take the money from your savings account and put it in a fireproof box. Savings accounts are always nonexempt.

Also if it is an old credit card debt, it might be past the statute of limitations which means that you can use the statute of limitations as an affirmative defense and they won't win the case. Get your copies of your credit reports by snail mail.
