I am attempting to clean up my credit after a divorce. I have a few write offs on credit cards that I would like to take care of and get them off of my record. They are about 3 years old. First, how do I find out if the original debtor (Cross Country) has sold the account? Secondly, how do I go about making an offer with the condition of a reage showing a current paid off debt? Will this help my credit?
