Actually, you'll likelyl be bombarded with 'pre-approved' credit offers after you file, but most of them won't be worth the paper they're written on. The terms are horrendous. You CAN use the alternate address to file your BK under, just be prepared to explain to the Trustee why you used a different address - people do it all the time for the same reason. You can and should start rebuilding after your discharge. You start by doing some credit repair about 90 days after your discharge. This will get any incorrect listings corrected or maybe even removed. Then you start off with a secured card. If you keep squeakly clean credit for 2 years, you can qualify for an FHA mortgage at a decent rate.
