paying off old COs will not help your credit. if anything..since this is out of SOL, it is gonna hurt it. right now its showing this old..you do NOT want it to show new activity. opt out..check whychats site for the link. you call one number (works for all 3 CRAs) and you remove yourself from the list that CRAs will sell to anyone. (basically so someone wont buy this old CO and come after you) it keeps some CA from poisoning your credit with some illegal methods on collecting..it keeps you from receiving those "pre-approved" offers in the mail..and basically keeps anyone who has no business in your business out of your business! lol. CRAs sell your info to everyone and their dogs. dont mess with those COS. it is extremely hard to "make" them do anything. altho they will promise ya the moon...anyone will see by the history its a paid charge off. bad, bad thing on your credit. reaging is illegal..you certainly dont want someone doin that!! settling usually means they sell the remainder to another CA and presto..your screwed more years than ever, i would...my opinion only...leave it the hell alone. good luck. reagin it , then you start the SOL all over again on the remainder of the balance. im quite sure its been sold..prolly numerous times. be thankful no one is messing with ya on it. they cant legally show it current and paid off...thats exactly the thing the gov is trying to stop...incorrect reporting on our reports! just my view!
