You may be causing yourself more harm than good. If the judgment is in another State, and has not been perfected and domesticated for enforcement in YOUR State, and if it is within the legal time for doing so, you are opening yourself up to having the creditor enforce it in your own State. If, on the other hand, it is out of SOL (for enforcement in your State) and over 6-7 years old, you can easily get it removed from your credit reports by opting out, deleting old addresses, and disputing it away.
