I gotta tell ya, if they already HAVE a judgment against you, the letters from the attorney regarding siezure of property and the gumshoe threatening arrest are probably REAL !

They have the judgment, they have legal remedies to enforce collection. The papers the detective has been trying to serve you, and what you signed for in the mail are likely for a debtor's exam. If you blow off a debtor's exam, you are in contempt of court and you CAN be arrested - even spend the night in jail !!! This is nothing to fool with.

You probably could have avoided the whole thing by going to court when they went to get the judgment becuase the debt they sued you for is WAY past SOL in every state by WY.

You need to get a list of your state's exemptions and you need to claim those exemptions otherwise they WILL inventory your household goods and cart them away to a Sheriff's sale.

What state are you in and how long ago was the judgment rendered against you ? You may still have a chance to appeal the judgment, possibly even get it vacated.
