Can anyone tell me exactly what happens with a judgment? I live in NC. MBNA is trying to get judgment. Will I be notified? No wage garnishment in NC. I offered a compromise to accept judgment at 80% of amount being sued, which is over 100% of original principal on CC. I was told that a offer to compromise for judgment would not be the same as a court ordered judgment, is this correct? I also want to pay monthly installments, so much up front and balance in monthly installments. Anyone ever heard of this working to stop further litigation.
