I posted on here a while back because I was feeling uneasy about a CA. I am currently paying them for my debt so I can get it off my record, I fell behind and I started getting some phone calls etc. Anyways, a couple of you gave me info and pointed me in the right direction. It made me feel a lot better to know that they are basically full of baloney. They call up and act like it's a life or death situation - they even threatened legal action and then reneged when I called them on it. Oh well. Life rolls on, debts get paid one way or another. I hold no animosity towards them, they're just doing their jobs, but I think there might be a place reserved in hell just for debt collectors :)
Irregardless, I've been lurking lately just for the entertainment value. Thanks One question though, do all collection agencies buy debts? Do some of them work directly for the original creditor? How do I find out if a debt has been "charged off"?
