I hate to be the deliverer of bad news, but the truth is, you made a huge mistake by not showing up last year, and allowing them to get a default judgement. The judge and your current court case at this time will only be concerned about these yahoos rights to collect on the judgement.
Your best hope is to get to an attorney and get this judgement vacated. If you get to an attorney they should be able to get this current court case put on hold, while they file legal action to get judgement vacated, once they get this done, and if they get this done, then they will be able to dispose of the current legal action against you on this judgment that will then no longer exist.
Good luck, your gonna need it.
