Encore is the parent company of Midland Credit Management. They are bottom feeding junk debt buyers and not very nice to boot. As far as them having teeth, I will let you know after 7/7. They are sueing me in civil court and I am representing myself. If you have any assets, like a car that is paid for, equity in a home, or a good paying job, they will sue even if they have no proof that the debt is yours or past SOL. They count on people not showing up for court and getting default judgements. I sure wouldn't start a conversation with them if I were you, you'll regret it.
