Credit card Debt

I have recieved a summons in Delaware for a credit card debt of 1700.00. I have not had the credit card for I think over 8 years. It is not even on my credit report on any of the 3 major credit report agencies.
The Credit Store bought the debt from Citibank but it has been 3 years. Does this make a differnce? I think they filed on the last day of the 3 years since they bought the debt. But I have had it for 8 years. Have any advice? What should I do? Does SOL take over?
