That depends on your state statue ect. I would think a 10 year old check is past the sol to collect. What is the name of the company he represents? I would get a little information from him if I were you. If he is with a collection agency it sounds like he has violated the FDCPA. Call his bluff. Make him validate the check. Hope this helps
