Hello,
No answer to my previous message, so here goes again: I recieved a summons from an attorney demanding payment for a car loan from 1989. The car was repossessed and sold, and I thought that was the end of it. Apparently not, because the attorney wants nearly $15K to settle the remaining balance. Evidently the car was sold for a pittance, and they are looking to me for the rest. I sent back a letter and answer to the summons stating that the SOL had expired in both Michigan, where this occurred, and in CT, where I now live. Yesterday I recieved another thick package from the attorney, with a 'First Request For Admissions' in it. What the heck do I do now? The document asks for a reply in two matters: one, that I executed the agreement for the car purchase, two, that I made a payment in 1997 on the delinquent loan. I'm fairly certain that I did not make any payments in 1997, how do I answer this document?
