I would try and call the assistance program to get them to pay those debts. Until those debts are paid they will never remove them from your record. They will show up even if paid, but will be neutralized by payment your credit will be fine. However you should contact the hospital where the bill is to let them know so they don't turn it over to a collection agency which will charge interest.

Your assistance program will be tough to crack, but they are your only hope unless you pay yourself. Medical bills are very hard to dispute and the longer you wait the worse it gets. Hospitals only hold records for five years, but your credit will show the debt for 7. So you only have 5 years to pay. You have about six months before it goes to collection agency status.

I would get it paid asap if you can afford it.
