Your State's Attorney General's office which can be found online under your State's government pages has a department dealing with Banking and Insurance fraud. They also cover collection agencies. I'm not sure if this is a collection agency but they must have a department covering finance agencies. If what they are doing is not legal, your State can stop it. I have had a creditor harass a reference in California for a debt of $30. You will have no choice but either to pay and write these people off, or get the State involved. I would get the State involved and threaten an attorney and if nothing happens after 3 months pay an attorney to get rid of them.

Better paying an Attorney to make sure this company never does this again, then spend your money on the debt when they did this terrible thing. How awful! They should be ashamed. If you still need help respond with the state you are in.
