You can order your Experian (TRW) and Equifax credit reports online. Just check out the *Credit Reports* link at the left side of the screen. As long as all of the identification information (name, address, etc) matches what they have on file, you sould be able to get your reports without sending copies of any documentation. Regarding the loan, perhaps this is some kind of collection agency offering you a payment plan on an old unpaid debt. There is at least one agency that sometimes offers debtors a maxed-out credit card based on an old debt. As far as this company checking your credit, what they can do depends on the circumstances. They may have done some kind of "pre-screening" for people with damaged credit, who might be willing to pay a high rate. Or, if they are a collection agency, and own an old unpaid debt of yours, they might have pulled your complete file.
