You should dispute this with the credit reporting agency as "out of date". They are not supposed to be reportinginformation that is more than seven years from the date of last activity (payment).

Do not try to pay it!!! YOu will create more problems for yourself. Just dispute it.

: I have an old car loan that was never paid in full. The company I was dealing with was sold to another bank and then sold to another bank and then sold again. This was over 14 years ago. The debt is still on my credit report. I would like to pay it but when I call the numbers listed on the report, no one can give me an answer. How can I resolve this problem? Since the debt is so old, should it now be dropped from my credit report?
