If they press you again about it, ask them where they want you bring the vehicle (so they can repossess it)... They will change their tune - they don't want the vehicle, they just want you to pay on time. In other words, call their bluff. Never, ever, ever, write a postdated check to anyone for any reason. : When my fiance' and I met, he was in debt for his truck payment, which had been referred to a collection agency. Over two years ago, I called them (with his permission) and set up a payment plan. Since he did not have a checking account, we would deposit his paychecks in my account and I would make a payment out of my checking account.
: For two years, we have made a full monthly payment. I'm not saying they were all on time, but we never missed a payment.
: Now, because our payments have been late (not missed) the collection agency is pushing me to give them a postdated check out of my account for them to draw on for the next six months. If I don't, they will "discontinue our monthly payment option."
: I'm uncomfortable with this. Do I have to do this?
