Some of these firms called Debt consolidation companies or accounts recievables acquisitions firms are nothing more than middle men for collection agencies or they are data trappers who collect information on debtors and sell to collection agencies. They have many scams to get you into their programs. One of the newest scams is to pose as debt consolidation companies. THey do this because they know that debtors in trouble sometimes seek out solutions to their problems before bankruptcy.
