Anyone had success with Debt Reduction Companies?????????????????????

Was calling around looking for a consumer consolidation program for $17,000 credit card debt on 2 cards. Really don't want to deal with debt reduction companies since most tend to be scams but not sure if all are scams. Anyone ever do a successfull debt reduction program? Here's why I ask - I found a company who said they consolidate but when he explained the program it sounds like reduction. He said they pay $.35 on the dollar and if they are unable to do so within the 3 months then they will refund the full amount I gave them and they said they'll put that in writing for me. They also said they have worked with the 2 cards in the past and never had a scenario where they couldn't get $.35 on the dollar since they only take on people with hardships. I looked them up on the Better Business Bureau but they've only been in business for 2 years. Not sure if I should trust them and pay the $194 a month or keep on looking. Any suggestions or any ideas on good companies?????
