"Investigator" - my eye !! Its a totally bogus title a collector gives him/herself to make themselves sound more intimidating. When did you last pay the original creditor and what CC is this for ? Who was the CA calling you ?? TX is a very debtor-friendly state - homestead is 100% exempt, and so is 1 car per licensed driver. 99% of the time they can't take squat and they cannot garnish in TX either. Chances are good the 'lawsuit' threat was just that and nothing more- but illegal if they do NOT sue.
