I bought a car about 6 yrs ago because of financial problems the car was repoed.But before it got to that point i cashed in my small 401k to play catch up. I got phone calls after phone calls,at one point the man calling me went so far to threaten me that he would have the State police waiting for me on the highway and have me arrested for stealing the car. When i reported this the collection agency told me he no longer worked there,(so they said).Because of cut in pay & hardship i still lost the car.I bought the car in new jersey & i live in pa.After they repoed the car I NEVER got any paper work on this car saying where it went,who bought it or even that they had it crushed.If they sold it i don't know how much they got for the car. That was the last i heard about it.Now I get phone calls telling me i owe this amount & i need to make payment arrangement to keep from going to court. So i ask how much & we talked about my income so they came up with $50.00 a month so i said great but was told if i miss one payment i would go to court. Three months later i get a phone call form this agency telling me the Bank that financed the car wants $500.00 down to keep out of court &$100.00 a month.I told this wasn't mention in our last conversation it not fair,she said we'll go to court.So i borrowed the $500.00 and a check had to clear they put this through and lefted me a message on my machine that i needed to call them asap or i will be held for making fraudulent promises.I never went back on my word to them every month they called me up to make the electronic payment & at one point they took out a double payment.The lady that lefted the message told me if i didn't call they would come to my job and serve me papers to go to court. I know they have a right to collect the money but to act like this? Is it because i'm a women & they like to bully women? How do i handle this?Any help would be appreciated.I could of went bankrupt but choose not to. Thanks to all
