Your employer will receive a garnishee summons and will need to file a response saying you work there etc. A table should be attached that shows your employer the maximum amount they can withhold from each paycheck. It usually works out to be about 25% of your pay. Your employer should inform you that you have been garnished and you will see the deduction in your paycheck. If you work fo r a small company and you know for sure you will be garnished, you might want to let the payroll dept. know so they know what to expect.
