If its only past due by 5 months, its not been charged-off yet. A FEW creditors will go as low as 35%, some no less than 50%, but many won't settle for less than 80% before charge-off. Once it charges-off, the game changes. Just make sure you do everything in writing. Offer them 35% to start with and negotiate up to your limit if you have to.
