Question about CA licensing/bonding

Midland Credit is suing me. I checked out on the Indiana site to see if they are licensed and bonded, when I put in their name, it says they are not in the database. Someone told me that Encore is part of Midland, not sure if that is true.
I put Encore in and they are licensed and bonded in Indiana. My question is: On my summons, it says that Midland is suing me as servicing agent for MRC receivables as assignee of Household/Orchard Bank. Nowhere does it say Encore. Does it mean that Midland is NOT licensed and bonded in my state? Or if they are part of Encore does that mean they are licensed and bonded? Thanks for your help!
