IGNORE THEM!! There is a lot of psychology in debt collection. CAs lie and threaten, they will say just about anything to intimidate or scare you into paying them. You just don't need the stress. Change your phone number. If you keep collection mail, keep it, just in case you need it for something (not likely). I always go with the 'be on the safe side". The phone is their tool, take it away from them. I had 13 cars, and due to an accident, could not pay. I actually put my phone on fax for awhile. Later, when things cooled off, I watch caller ID, and/or let the machine pick up.
