Depending on the law firm you can expect:

agressive attempts to collect or

nothing at all or

written questions sent but no follow up if ignored.

if they send written questions (maximum 20 I think) and you don't respond then they will either:

forget about it for a while and then resend or

if one of the lawyers buying debt (they own it) they will go to court to get a motion to compel- then you will have to answer or face possible court ordered sanctins.

Whatever they do, first you have 30 days. If you decided to file a notice of appeal -county to circuit is the easiest - then there is a 90 day wait until you file your followup paperwork. NOtice of appeal is just that- one sentence stating you are appealing. You then have 90 days to follow up with all the paperwork. Nothing can happen during that period.

When they send questions, usually have around 30 to respond.
