Although my credit alert had it listed as a public record, I did check with my local courthouse to see if anything was filed there. They said no. I also have not received any notice of filing (as of yet).

I just pulled my Experien Credit report to check the entry. Although the Alert showed up under the Public Records section, the Line Entry for CFC Financial states: Date open 8/1/2003. Terms 1 Month. Account Type: Unknown - Credit Extension, Review, Or Collection Closed. Payment status: Seriously past due date/ assigned to attorney, collection agency, or credit grantor's internal collection department. Comments: Account in dispute-reported by subscriber.

When CFC first showed up on my credit reports, I had disputed as account not mine. When I disputed this in April with Experien on line through creditexpert.com, I had received a Correction Summary from Experien with the CFC Financial item updated. The status details were "Account information disputed by consumer (Meets requirement of the Fair Credit Report Act)". This item was verified and updated on 4/2004.

However, when I checked my Experien May and June reports through creditexpert.com, the CFC Financial line item wasn't showing up at all -- which is why I thought the CFC Financial line item was deleted completely (even though it was showing up on the credit reports from TransUnion and Equifax) Of course, like I said before, I did send a certified letter to CFC on 5/21/04 requesting validation and proof of claim but I have heard nothing from them.

It seems to me that CFC not only hasn't provided validation, but they are continuing to make matters worse by updating their listings.

What specific steps shall I take in getting this matter corrected.
