I got the same type of alert today. I called my local courthouse and they said they have nothing on file. I pulled my actual credit report and found that the line item wasn't under Public Records (even though the alert said it was).

However, it did show the following information: Account Name: CFC Financial, LLC. Acct. type: Unknown-Credit Extension, Review, or Collection. Acct. Status: Closed. Date open 8/1/2003. Terms 1 Month. Payment Status: Seriously past due date/assigned to attorney, collection agency, or credit grantor's internal collection department. Comments: Account in dispute-reported by subscriber.

In reading all the posts today, on this board and others, it seems like quite a few of us are getting hit.

Any ideas on what to do?
