Hello all,
I just recently found this website. I've been paying Sherman Acquisitions on an old Discover card charge off. It was charged off in 2000. Sherman started hounding me about a year and a half ago. I've been paying them $100. monthly and now I read that I should never have paid them a cent. I feel like a fool. What can I do? I didn't sign any new agreements. I pay them by check and know now to change banks because they have my info. What happens if I stop paying them? I could sure use that $100. a month. They may be ready to settle for a lot less by now. They won't update my CR. I've argued with them and they just pass me around to someone else that's supposed to be in charge. Every month is the same. It'll say charge off. I don't know which way to go. Thanks for any advice in advance.
