others will be along with their views but here is mine. to get your name off the card..you can try asking penneys. my guess is they would want a fraud report filed to do it. altho it is fraud.big time. divorce papers mean nothing in owing a debt. you can try to send penneys the papers from the divorce and request in writing CRRR to remove you from the account and there was no permission to reopen it with your name on it. depends how nasty you want to be or how far you will go. usually in cases like this..one needs to file fraud charges, as it is fraud. (of course they dont want just anyone charging and then saying oh wait that wasnt me and getting away with it), you can try the other first. you can try disputing the account as not yours..altho i dont think that will go too far. your ex should have opened the account in her name only. good luck. its very legitimate to follow up on , as this is fraud..cut and dried. dont know what SOL you are referring to?
