a judgement can accrue interest at a amount allowed by your state. your balance wont stay at 3,000. it will go up as much as they have in the contract..some have 30% ...and a lien can only be gotten by obtaining a judgement..goin back to court to enforce the judgement and filing a lien on property , which you should always claim exempt in any proceedings. they can lien whatever the judgement is for plus xx% interest yearly as allowed in your state.
