Everyone has given you very good advice. You are NOT legally liable for your deceased husband's debts, I don't care how much the balances are or how much insurance money he left you. If they can't come up with an application that has your signature on it, the best they can do is harass you until you make them quit.

Try to find an attorney to help you get these parasites off your back. Go to http://www.edcombs.com and contact them to see if they'll evaluate your case. They'll look at any communication you've received from the collection agency for free. But tell the CA NOTHING, other than sending them a copy of your husband's death certificate and stating that there was no estate.
