My experience. I paid minimum for about a year. It was money out the window. I should have put it in a shoe box and started a bond fire. If you can't pay an get rid of them completely, I think you are wasting your money. I assume this account is with a CA???? Even if you have a small balance, they will continue to add interest, and you will be paying till death do you part, and then they will hound your kids. I would say, just be done with it. Take the money from your house and put it somewhere safe. If you are dealing with the original creditor, maybe you can negoiate a smaller balance. Yes, I think they will put that interest rate right into the double digits. Just my 2 cents.
