yes, its a GOOD thing. means they cant resell the remainder of the debt to another, and if they do, you have proof its paid. if your not insolvent..you will pay taxes on the amount. small price to pay to be out from under a debt, imho*. im no sure but i think only a OC can give you a 1099c. not sure..ask someone else. i dont think a CA can do that. it is for amounts over 600$ that are forgiven. hugs sky* do not pay anything until its all in writing..signed and sealed and delivered.
