Never talk to a CA, never pay a CA. There is a lot of psychology in debt collection. CAs lie and threaten, it is the way they do business. They paid pennies on the dollar for the debt, usually can not validate anything and usually do not sue. If they do sue you, it is with the hope of getting a default judgement. If you show up and defend........they most likely will not be able to prove that the debt is yours and that the charges are yours and that all interest is legally allowed in your state. The burden of proof is on them. IF they sue. I had 13 charge offs and was sued at the end by only 1. Not bragging, (couldn't pay because of accident), but the reality is chances are good that they will not sue.
