The lawyer is a family friend that will only give us so much free advice. And since we can't afford a lawyer, that's all we are getting for now.

Lawyer said that it is illegal to have a post card sent to us, and that hubby should go and file the motion to set the judgement aside (which he is doing asap today), and that we should ask for a retrial. We never received any summons or anything after we filed the original answer, nothing. No notice to appear or anything.

How would we go about asking for a new trial? We are so straped for cash, we can't afford anything.
