go to whatchats post on here and follow the links to his site and see "opt out" and it explains it. basically, you call one number for all 3 CRAs and prevent them from selling your info to anyone looking. CAs will look at reports to send pre-approved offers..or to find accounts they can buy up and try to collect on when you need credit for a house or car..CRAs sell our info to companies all the time..
