Just got a call from RMA

on a sears debt that has the DOLA of 2/00...I informed them that I disputed the debt, and that the SOL had come and gone, she swore the SOL for NC credit card debt was 7 years...I'm laughing the whole time.....she puts me on hold when I tell her that my state attorney gen told me the SOL....she comes back in a few minutes and says.....well sir....you still owe this debt....I again said....It's in dispute....and I will send a CCR letter to you....she says....but I can cut the debt down to 800 bucks....I said...now why would I pay 800bucks for a debt, that is past SOL and one you paid pennies on the dollar for.....she then says...so I should put this as a refusal to pay....I said....letters will be in the mail ASAP.....what a bunch of lying scumbags.....thanks to this site I can fight back....and even sound pretty knowledgeable about debt and collection agency practices......thanks all.....
