New to this board, confused by all the abbreviations. Due to unemployment, I have not been able to pay the AT&T Universal Card. I had to stop paying them last year. I secured help through Solidium to settle the case, but they were shut down by the FTC. Well, while my file was sitting at Solidium, I received a letter from an attorney's office, Mapother and Mapother saying they had been assigned my account for collections. That letter is dated March 16, 2004. Included a phone number, which I never called. Haven't heard anything else from these guys. I owe an amount to the tune of $7,700. I wrote AT&T a ltter on June 17th offering my own settlement terms, but of course haven't heard anything back. I am wondering what I should do at this point. I am in West Virginia.
