Here is a link to the Missouri online court system. You need to check what the your ciruit court requires for appearance. You can also check the docket entries for your case. In Newton Co you can just come to the court house, let the clerk know you are there, then wait for your name to be called. I call this Cattle Call Justice. www.courts.mo.gov Casenet is down tonight, but that is the link you click to access the cases. You can also call the circuit court clerk and ask. If she starts her speal about not being allowed to give out legal advice, remind her this is about procedure, not law. Here is a link to the answer I used for my case, it is formatted correctly for Missouri. Just use what applies to your case, don't try to use all of it. And deny everything on the first section except agree you are a resident of your county. If you are Pro Se (defending yourself) you can file your answer before you go into the court room, but it is better if you get it to the court house and have them file one copy and stamp another as soon as possible. You send that other copy to the plaintiff's attorney, the address is on your copy of the complaint. It all sounds more complicated than it is, I just went for my pre trial conference today, it was a piece of cake! Oh, and anything you sign, has to be notorized or they won't accept it. http://www.lectlaw.com/forms/f016.htm I just copy and pasted it to Works word processor and then copied and pasted what I needed to the next page down on that document and change words where I needed. You might want to look over lectric law library, there is a lot of useful stuff written in english, not legalese, kind of a "Law for Dummies" Hope this helps, good luck!
