sky..you know my old man is the same. i fight to keep him from chargin on the 2 cards we still have. i closed the others that were paid, so he cant use them. now he takes his check..puts it in the safe..gives me the bill money..and i leave it alone. he spends it all..oh well. he earns it..i dont. we re-fied to have money to live on...bad choice but it was all i had. if your hb..like mine..wont go into counseling or listen..there isnt much you can do. i actually dont even buy groceries anymore. well. seldom. there is a book out i want and i ask him for the money for it. shrug* its up to you how you choose to go and what you can live with. but without changing lifestyles..he will just repeat it all again and again. hugs** if you can make mininum payments..do it. it isnt a solution..nor smart..but its too late now unless you have a lump sum come in, and it will keep your credit reasonable. (i know,,we did the same and we are paying dearly for it)..or informal BK,,as we did with 3 cards. quit paying..screw your credit a few years..and ignore the CAs and hope you arent sued. i had no luck at all negotiating any interest..late fees..nothing off. those i just gave up on. i regret that now..but next time you see a radio shack commercial..payments of only 30$ a month!!! do the math. thats for at least 20 YEARS. this society is living on this crap..and it will be our downfall. we are living monthly and not yearly. im sorry this happened to ya.
