Did you claim no knowledge of the debt? Did you dispute as per their first dunning letter asking for Validation? If you did then they continued collection activity against you and have violated FDCPA. If you asked for validation/verification and Wolpoff & Abramson bought the debt prior to giving it to their sham NAF then they have violated more than just the FDCPA. They owe you an explanation of the debt and the amount determined to be in question. If you asked for validation and disputed the whole debt then they must answer I believe within a 30 to 90 day period about the questionable account. If they don't the account must be removed from their records and all negative reporting must also be removed based on lack of verification of the debt.

Don't let them get away with it. Check out the UCC and see for yourself. By their silence they have voided any contract they tried to perpetuate with you.
