Let them threaten all they want. If the debt is beyond the SOL, it's uncollectible. File a complaint with the FTC and your AG's office, but ignore the CA.

If you're in TX or in a jurisdisction that allows them to freeze accounts before suing, then protect your assets by moving them to a different bank with someone else as primary.
